Many people at the River make regular contributions towards the support of three children in foreign lands:

Ingrid from Guatemala

Ingrid is sponsored through Compassion UK.  She is 16 (2018) and lives in Guatemala with her father, mother and 3 siblings.  She speaks Spanish.  Her hobbies are basketball and music.  Her favourite subjects are computer studies, technology and maths.
Your sponsorship allows staff at the Jesuchristo Student Centre to provide her with bible teaching, social events, recreational activities, academic support and health lessons.  She is also provided with nutritional snacks and a lunch.
The centre staff also provide devotions for the parents or guardians of the children.

Jeysel from El Salvador

Jeysel is sponsored through Compassion UK.  She is 16 (2018) and lives with her father, stepmother and 1 sibling.  She speaks Spanish.  Her UK-equivalent school year is Year 11 and her favourite subject is languages.  Her hobbies are cycling, skipping and attending her music workshop.  Jeysel hopes, if it is God's plan for her, to become a professional singer.
Your sponsorship helps Jeysel to be cared for holistically at Jardin de Jesus Student Centre.  The teaching she receives is based on spiritual, social and health lessons.  She is encouraged by the staff to identify her strengths, interests and vocational training will be provided later to guide her towards realistic goals for the future.
At her project, parents are also encouraged to meet once a month to learn a variety of topics.

Elior from Tiberias, Israel

We sponsor Elior directly, through his Messianic fellowship the Morning Star, Tiberias where his father, Alexander is an Elder.  Elior is 17 years old (2019).  He speaks Hebrew.  He is a quiet lad but recently enjoyed a school trip to Japan.  He serves his church by playing the drums during worship.  When he is 18, Elior will serve his country by joining up to the Israel Defence Force.  He lives with his mother, father and one brother close to the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus walked.
