School children from Fair Furlong School came and sang carols and Christmas songs, beautifully, to the OWLS at their.................

 

 

  

 

 

 

.......annual Christmas tea for the over 60's here at the River of Life

 

 

 

 

 

    We set and painted a "Bethlehem" backdrop for the "Carols by Candlelight" on the Sunday before Christmas.........  

 

 

 

 

 

 

.........and the children delighted us with their Nativity play

 

 

 

 

 

 

The church was full that afternoon

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We were especially pleased to welcome new friends from the Bridge/New Fosseway School for children with special challenges 

 

 

 

 

They also acted out a Christmas play and sang songs to us all.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We applaud the school team for the way they were able to include everyone, including visiting parents and friends

 

 

 

 

 On Sunday December 27th, we added some further basic artwork showing the stark contrast of how the coming of Jesus, the "Light of the world", opposed the darkness of sin that the people were living in.

  

The cross was added later, to remind us that the "Light of the world", our Saviour, willingly endured and overcame sin, darkness and the devil himself as He shed His blood, gave His life as a sacrifice, was buried, then rose from the dead three days later and is alive today, and  coming again soon.
